Who is a Christian

It seems like the vogue is to say who is and who is not a Christian. What are your parameters? When does a person who says they are a Christian not meet up to the standard?

  1. What? I am thinking about is where Jesus says Depart from me I never new you.
But these people if you keep reading, believed they were Christians?
how can they Not know they were not Christians?
I find this topic hard to understand,I realize this video is a year old.
    I’m catching up .

  2. To know? who is Christian or not is determined in 1 John.

  3. I feel that the older i get the more i realize that im not the Holy Spirit for only God knows our heart ,mind and soul. When i was young i felt like Henry Ford and the modal t you can have? any color you want just as long as its black .Or your a Christian just as long as we agree . Wow no i see theirs more than just on color coming off the assembly line . John in Revelation address the seven churches wow they all had something a matter with them .We must keep our eyes on Christ at any angle

  4. Well i to believe in trinty . That creation in gen. or recreation in gen. All three Spirits were their.I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, arose the third day . I feel That a real Christian must Believe that Christ is the Son of God.For John? 3;16 SAYS WHOSOEVER BELIEVES ON ME . The word believe is more than a one time prayier of forgiveness and he never hears from you again .We our cover by grace but in that grace we love Christ so much we respect him and try not to sin .

  5. There are no such a person whom is Christian ! JESUS CHRIST WAS AND IS THE ONLY TRUE CHRISTIAN !!! AMEN!??!!!?

  6. not all follow the same Christ it depends on the teachings if they are in the bible or heretical lies but really only God knows who’s? true or not
but my two cents is if one claims God told me to do so and so and it goes against the word then that is false Christ they are following

  7. I think you would find it interesting to research where the term “Christian” came from, who it came from, and what sect it defined in the 1st century, who and what it is today and then reason why it has turned into the valuless term it is today. I believe when you do, you will not use that term w/ as? broad an application as you do. I also believe that after the research you will have a far different understanding of the “C” word. The the real ? is r u a follower or a member one with the Head?

  8. I would argue that Hell is an immoral punishment. Also Punishing someone because they don’t love you seems pretty petty to me. By the way doesn’t love typically require knowing someone before loving them? If I got a letter in the mail from a stranger asking me to “love me or die”. I would think that’s insane, how could you love someone you don’t even know? Put a gun to my head and I’ll tell you whatever you want to hear.? If you really want my love, respect, admiration then? you need to earn it

  9. Orginally I posted this question to TruthCeeker, but I decided to watch your video after seeing his and in doing so I wanted to see what you would say also. could you please watch these two videos and give me your thoughts on them. “Hell: an excessive punishment” by QualiaSoup and “The Problem of Hell? and a Loving God” by CDK007.

  10. That is always the question, isn’t it? I think it depends on? the individual. I was reading the excellent comments my sister, Lara posted to this very question. I have to agree with pretty much everything she states here. I know Catholics, for instance, that fully believe in the shed blood of Jesus for the remission of sins while others seem to dwell more on the works/ritual basis to get them into heaven. Either way, God sees the heart and knows who are His own. Good discussion here, PG.

  11. Reminds me of the prodigal son – it’s one of my favorites. The father’s so happy to see his son alive that nothing matters but? having a feast and celebrating.

  12. He was humble, admitted he screwed up and asked for mercy, because he recognised the Truth. God really likes humble hearts that? recognise Him . I see many parallels between a parents love and Gods love for us. What parent with a screwed up kid who came to them with a humble heart, admitting they had screwed up and seeked your forgiveness and help would turn them away? A parents love is agape. They mate hate their kids actions but a good parent love them unconditionally. Oh and discipline them!

  13. Later? on in the evening I wrote the post, I talked with my son about htis some.
I realized that I did not express all I thought on this issue. Sometimes words arent enough and why I believe God knowing our hearts is so much more.
There is asking for forgiveness which is just part of the deal but I didnt put into words.
I am thankful that God knows all of me and not just a little.
It is freightning but peaceful at the same time.

  14. I have floated around many (what I call) “born again” denominations (or “non-denominations” lol) and I agree with you wholeheartedly. When I thought I was “getting it” re: “trinity”, someone threw a monkey wrench at me. I gave up. I believe “the Father, Son and Holy Ghost; these three are one” and I have found Peace :-)
The Sabbath is quite a heated debate for many of? my brothers and sisters. To the point they believe they can’t learn from a “Sunday Worshipper”. That frustrates me.

  15. In regard to be baptised i grewup in an AOG church and was? baptised . i also felt God encourage me to go down to the front for an altar call and went down in the spirit, was the most amazing peaceful warm loving experience and i remember thinking i dont want to wake up let me stay here… Some claim this is demonic but whatever lol, they dont understand so i fail to see the point in getting in to heated discussions with them. Do I think you have to be baptised to have Gods favour, I dont know.

  16. cont To be honest PG the only issue i get heated up about is when some who claim to be calvinist, state that God has created many who have no hope of salvation just because he didnt pick them. If i? am to get heated it is only when others take away hope.

  17. if your faith is genuine then its going to manifest itself. I think the question is what do others define works? In answer to that i rely on the bible verse that says Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but? now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

  18. Nope – and from what I remember both thieves reviled? Jesus according to Matthew, so he wasn’t repentant until some time after he was crucified.

  19. Thank you sis its comments like this that keep me? teaching and asking some hard questions for us to all talk about.

Imagine discussing theology on a Christian channel – Cool huh?

  20. Huggies – they? catch a lot of poop!

  21. I am glad that salvation does not have an entrance examination.?

  22. Early Greek philosophers said the same thing saying that G-d was unknowable (Essotericism) this made its? way into the early church and it was considered a heresy.

I hold to the notion that in Genesis G-d relieved much of not all of His nature and what was needed for salvation including the coming messiah.

  23. That surrender part is a HUGE piece. So many want the salvation but? not the L-rdship

  24. I very much disagree with this but would like to hear you expound on? the matter.

  25. That final day is going to be a? very rude awakening to be sure!
